ABOUT ME

Justin Pechulis is a pianist and organist currently based in Baltimore. He serves as the Director of Music and Organist at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Ellicott City, Maryland, where he directs their choral, handbell, and instrumental ensembles, their contemporary band, and coordinates their concert series Music at St. John’s. As a church musician, he has previously served at several churches in the Harrisburg, PA area, and has been honored to play at liturgies led by bishops including Ronald Gainer, Wilton Gregory, and Eugene Sutton. Justin also maintains a piano studio of nearly two dozen students as an instructor at the Menchey School of Music, Mike’s Music of Maryland, and Elizabethtown College. 

A native of South River, New Jersey, Justin earned his Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance from Elizabethtown College, located near Lancaster, PA, where his teachers included Debra Ronning, Anthony Ciucci, and Cheryl Braun. He also recently completed a Master of Music in Sacred Music from Westminster Choir College of Rider University, near Princeton, NJ, where he studied choral methods with Tom Shelton, liturgics with Steven Pilkington, and conducting with James Jordan. Justin is a member of several professional organizations including the Music Teachers National Association, Anglican Association of Musicians, and American Guild of Organists, where he recently completed a four-year term as the Secretary for the Harrisburg Chapter.
